Environmental Biotechnology is the multidisciplinary integration of sciences and engineering in order to utilize the huge biochemical potential of microorganisms, plants and parts thereof for the restoration and preservation of the environment and for the sustainable use of resources.

Our Mission:

• Teach and train environmental scientists and engineers at undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate level

• Carry out multidisciplinary research for the acquisition of novel scientific knowledge and technical know-how

• Develop innovative integrated processes for the bioremediation of contaminated sites, the biological treatment of industrial effluents and the bioconversion of organic wastes
